Hey!
I've got that Michael Bublé song in my head:
🎵 It's a new dawn / It's a new day / It's a new life for me / And I'm feeling good! 🎵
Okay, maybe it's not that dramatic. The new year did come, and we spent it as a family tucked nicely into our basement TV room with blankets and board games and sparkling cider. It was nice. I'm not a huge fan of big, sweeping resolutions and promises, but I am taking the new year as an opportunity to get myself reoriented. Figuring out what's important to me, and scheduling it into my day, has been historically both difficult and essential for me to be able to feel like I'm accomplishing my goals and taking care of myself.
So, this week, I broke out my wonderful, trusty Rocketbook and put together my weekly schedule. I scheduled in workouts and time for meal planning. I blocked out appointments, work schedules, and time for food shopping. I added a purpose to my writing days. So far, I'm behind. 😅 But it's a work in progress and I'm feeling good about having a schedule.
By the end of the month, the final edits on The Other Women should be complete. Next week, I'm going to send out one more batch of letters to agents in the hopes of seducing one with my irresistible way with words. And, I'm hoping to get more essays and blog posts written. Like this one, which sings out loud against the diet culture we are force-fed all our lives (and particularly around this time of year). Take a read and let me know what you think.
And, with that, the time I was able to block out to say a quick hello is gone. I'm of to an appointment, but I can't wait to talk with you again next week. if you've got a minute, why not reply to this email with a subject you'd love to read about on my blog!
Talk soon,
P.S. Don't forget to read my latest article and reply to let me know what you'd like to see me write about in the new year!
