Hey, you.
I guess I meant it when I said I needed to shift my priorities this autumn. I have not had a moment for creative writing as I’ve been focusing the last month (and will be focusing for the next 1-2 months) on my news business. The good news is that that’s going great. The bad news is that I’ve created a real actual business, and it’s hard to foresee a time when I’ll be able to set aside a day or two a week for book, story, poem, and essay writing like I used to.
More good news, though, is that I’ve got a pretty deep catalog for you to read from. As the decorations are going back up, I thought I’d send you a rerun of this story that was well-loved in its time and, despite the dated references to finishing the book that has now been published, is every bit as compelling today as it was a year ago (if I do say so myself).
And one more piece of good news: I’ll be in your inbox again this week with a story about… well, I don’t want to scare you. So let’s just say I’ve unearthed myself as I do some traveling this week and will be putting together an essay that I really think/hope you’ll love.
For now, read this. Chances are you weren’t a subscriber of Nicci’s Notes back when it was published a year ago.
See you soon.
