Oh my god that's so scary! And that nurse is a hero lol. Reminds me of the time I was at the optometrist and they gave me those eyedrops that make your vision go fuzzy after pulling down on my eyelid to check for . . . whatever it is they check for. I have a problem with things touching in or around my eyes and by the time they got to the drops I straight up passed out on them. Those poor healthcare professionals
They should all be given sainthood no questions asked. It has always been a funny anecdote to share but I didn’t realize til I was writing it up how scary it was
You know, in years of sharing this story no one has ever asked that. The answer is very unsexy - they never really did figure it out. Reflux was the official diagnosis but it never really fit. Eventually it went away, for the most part. Every once in awhile it comes back.
